Tourist destination – Geliye Duhok
Geliye Duhok is a vibrant tourist destination, named for its scenic location in the heart of the Duhok Valley. The project combines natural beauty with modern facilities and offers a range of services, including a restaurant, sweet and juice shops, motels, a fitness and massage center, artificial waterfalls, landscaped gardens, and a multi-storey car park. It also includes the Duhok Municipal Guesthouse, which provides accommodation for special visitors.
One of the key features of the project is a park designed to celebrate three significant national holidays, where artistic and architectural elements create a cohesive experience. The project area extends from the entrance of the valley to the Duhok Dam, with a central waterfall installation that I personally designed and supervised. In addition, I have led the restoration of ancient ruins around the Carstin Cave, carefully integrated into the landscape to preserve the historical heritage of the area.
With its scenic views and pleasant summer climate, Geliye Duhok attracts both locals and tourists from all over the world. The place has become a popular destination, especially in the evenings, where families and friends gather to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and create memorable moments.
