Public Project - Central Bank - Erbil
A competition was held to design the Central Bank of Erbil, and my design proposal was selected. The inspiration came from the historic Erbil Citadel and the architectural elements of its buildings. I used the circular shape as a central part of the main building of the bank, along with a high protective wall to ensure a high level of security for the fortified space. Both the main building and the wall have a gradual difference in level, reminiscent of the structure of the buildings inside the citadel.
The facades are a combination of historical and modern design. The architectural elements on the facades include arches in the same style as those in the castle, complemented by tall vertical slats on the main facade and a smaller scale for the fence.
I supervised the project during the construction process as the lead architect.
